Hydrualics

Fundamentals of hydraulics, including 

safety types of hydraulic pumps, cylinders, valves, motors, and related systems. Introduction to hydraulic schematic symbols as related to components.

Advanced Electrical

Direct Current (DC) Motors, Single Phase and Poly Phase Alternating Current (AC) Motors, Generators and Alternators. Emphasis on construction, characteristics, efficiencies, starting and speed control. Emphasis on applications applied to power transformers.

Mechanical Drives

 A study of the theory and operations of various types of pumps and compressors. Topics include mechanical power transmission systems including gears, v-belts, and chain drives.

Pnuematics

A study of principles of pneumatics, including formulas, functions, symbols and circuits with hands-on experience in these industrial automated systems.

Programmable Logic Controls (PLC)

Fundamental concepts of programmable logic controllers, principals of operation, and numbering systems as applied to electrical controls.

Print Reading

Introduction into prints and schematics used in industry to assemble, install, troubleshoot and repair industrial equipment. Topics will include: Blueprint reading for machining parts, Facility prints for equipment installation.

Basic Electrical Theory

Basic theory and practice of electrical circuits. Includes calculations as applied to alternating and direct current. Study symbology and interprets machine electrical schematics.

Motor Controls

Operating principles of solid-state and conventional controls along with their practical applications. Includes braking, jogging, plugging, safety interlocks, wiring, and schematic diagram interpretations.

Controls & Instrumentation

Instrument Safety Techniques and Practices. Basic measurements, automatic control systems and design, closed loops systems, controllers, control modes and configurations. Automatic control of industrial processes including control systems, control loop tuning and analysis. Techniques for calibrating transmitters, controllers, recorders and valve positioners.
